EXTREMIST WARNING: MOHAMMAD SARWAR

Look what happens when you associate with extremists like Mohammad Sarwar. I mean this guy has backed every terror law Blair has asked for but he did vote against the Iraq war, so maybe its a case of the chickens coming home to roost for him personally.

Concerns raised as innocent Muslims detained

http://www.sundayherald.com/55439

By Liam McDougall

SENIOR members of Scotland’s Pakistani community last night revealed that they had approached the chief constable of Strathclyde Police to complain about the number of innocent Muslims being detained at Glasgow Airport.

Ashraf Anjum, president of the Glasgow Central Mosque, the largest in Scotland, said he had personally raised the issue with Sir Willie Rae last month in response to a growing number of incidents being reported to him.

Anjum, left, said in one case Glasgow-based Muslims who sit on the mosque’s executive committee were stopped after returning from a charity event in Pakistan involving the city’s Labour MP Mohammad Sarwar.

The group, which included an imam from another Glasgow mosque and a businessman, were singled out from other passengers and questioned about where they had been and who they had associated with.

They were detained for around an hour and then released without charge.

In another example, Anjum’s son was detained at an airport and asked about why he had previously visited Egypt. He explained to the officers that he had gone there on honeymoon.

The latest examples come in the wake of a major anti-terrorism operation in Scotland, which led to the arrest of a man under the Terrorism Act 2000. He was stopped at Glasgow Airport after returning to Scotland from Pakistan.

It also follows a Sunday Herald investigation which revealed last year that Special Branch officers were targeting Scots-based Muslims from Afghanistan at Glasgow Airport.

Mohammad Asif, president of the Scottish Afghan Society, revealed how he was stopped and asked by Special Branch if he knew the whereabouts of Osama bin Laden. He also had the numbers on his mobile phone recorded by officers.

Last night, Anjum said: “The extent of the concern is quite bad. People’s concerns were so great that I have raised the matter with the chief constable. It’s hurtful to think that just because you are a Muslim or flying in from Pakistan you are [seen as] a member of al-Qaeda.

“It is really hurtful that although you have been a citizen of Scotland for a long time and you have tried to build relations with everyone, that you can still be treated like this.”

Osama Saeed, Scottish spokesman of the Muslim Association of Britain, said: “Muslims feel that they are under a huge cloud of suspicion when they are at airports. It’s not a coincidence that it is people of Muslim-like appearance who are being stopped.”

Strathclyde Police were unavailable for comment.

Thinking of helping MI5? Think again

For all Muslims who may believe cooperating with M15, M16 and other security services is a good idea, please visit the link below regarding the treatment of Bisher al-Rawi and Jamil El-Banna. Put simply, its not a good idea.

Reprieve reports of growing evidence of British governmental involvement in the seizure and rendition of Bisher Al-Rawi and Jamil El-Banna, British residents “grabbed in The Gambia”, sent for torture in the “Dark Prison” in Kabul, and then taken to Guantanamo Bay

Launch of New Anti-Terror Workshops

Masha'Allah, its good to see that these workshops are happening - nobody seems to know what is going on or how to handle security services, and end up getting themselves in trouble. This should be advertised everywhere.

Islamic Human Rights Commission
26 April 2006

Alert: Launch of New Anti-Terror Workshops

The Islamic Human Rights Commission, supported by Stop Political Terror, is pleased to announce the launch of new workshops designed to educate the community about the latest anti-terror legislation.

Since 9/11, IHRC has been active in conducting anti-terror workshops in mosques, campuses and community centres in Britain. The workshops, entitled ‘Know your Rights’, were designed to educate the community about their rights under the anti-terror legislation and how to deal with being approached by Special Branch, MI5, MI6 and other security agencies. With the introduction of new anti-terror laws this month, the creation of new offences such as ‘glorification of terrorism’ and the targeting of not only Muslims but Islam itself, IHRC has felt it necessary to re-launch these workshops to inform the community about the implications of these laws.

Consequently, IHRC has teamed up with Stop Political Terror to produce ‘Know your Rights, Know your Duty’ workshops. Learn about the new laws, find out how to challenge them, educate yourself on how to help detainees and their families. If you would like to hold an anti-terror workshop in your mosque, Islamic society, or circle, please do not hesitate to contact IHRC.

Sister only workshops are also catered for and conducted by fully trained sisters.

Contact IHRC today if you are interested please email workshops@ihrc.org or call 020 8904 4222

Musharraf: I'm Not Bush's Poodle

The Demonisation of Iran Continues

How long will it be before the world witnesses another battlefront open up between Islam and the West? It seems the US just cannot wait. Have they already forgotton about the mess they created next door in Iraq? Do they even care? It doesnt matter - they are getting gung-ho about this and will pay dearly.

Today, the demonisation took another few steps. Firstly, the US State Department concludes in its annual report on world terrorism that Iran is "the most active state sponsor of terrorism"; then the UN Nuclear Agency Chief reports to the Security Council that Iran has defied calls to halt uranium enrichment. And finally, the Simon Wiesenthal Centre in Washington calls on FIFA to ban President Ahmadinejad from attending the World Cup in Germany, comparing him to Hitler. Right then, a few questions to see how bad Iran actually is:

Which country is Iran currently occupying?
How many countries has Iran invaded and occupied in recent history?
How many times has Iran been attacked in recent history? By who?
Do nations under attack have the right to arm themselves in self-defence?
What is a greater crime? To simly call for the end of another state or to actually invade and occupy another state and ethnically cleanse it of its native inhabitants?

Despite the above, the US seems hellbent on attacking Iran; it must remember though that Iran is not Iraq - Iraq was a pitiful state, weakened by a decade of economic sanctions, lead by a despised dictator planted there initially by the CIA, and whose army and civilians would not back him. And contrary to popular opinion, it did not possess WMD. Iran, on the other hand, is a powerful successful nation, lead by a popular revolutionary leader who says aloud what the masses feel inside. Iran has enriched uranium and you can be sure that if the US is stupid enough to go to war again, the Iranian masses will relish their chances.

Lawyer of the week: Muddassar Arani

Masha'Allah, it is good to have people like this around during these times of fitan

Lawyer of the week: Muddassar Arani
Interview by Linda Tsang

MUDDASSAR ARANI, of Arani & Co, acted for the British Muslim man in a court challenge to the control order issued against him, which allows the Government to restrict the liberty and movement of people it claims endanger public security. In the High Court, Mr Justice Sullivan ruled that the Government’s system of control orders against terrorism suspects was “an affront to justice”. The Home Office has rejected the court’s ruling and indicated that it will appeal against the decision.

What were the main challenges in this case and what are the possible implications?

The case was difficult because this was the first challenge to the Prevention of Terrorism Act and because the legislation is wrong on so many levels. We asked the court to take a very big step, that is to make a declaration of incompatibility with the (Human Rights Act), and we were vindicated by the ruling. If the Home Secretary does not win on appeal, the Government would have no choice but to repeal or substantially amend control order legislation.

What was your worst day as a lawyer?

Every case I lose feels like my worst day as a lawyer, but if I had to pick one, it would be the day we lost the Babar Ahmed extradition hearing. Our arguments were extremely strong; the District Judge accepted that this was a troubling case but he nevertheless ruled against us.

What was your most memorable experience as a lawyer?

Winning this case is right up there. Also in August 2002 we secured the acquittal of Suleyman Zain-ul-Abidin in the first prosecution for Islamic terrorism brought under the Terrorism Act 2000, which is particularly memorable and satisfying.

Who has been the most influential person in your life and why?

My mother, to whom I owe everything.

Why did you become a lawyer?

I became a lawyer to fight for the most disadvantaged in society. Since then I have unintentionally become a combatant (not unlawful) in the fight against Islamophobia and the erosion of our civil liberties.

What would your advice be to anyone wanting a career in law?

If you have passion, good judgment and the ability to think and express yourself clearly under pressure, go for it! If not, consider an alternative career.

If you had not become a lawyer, what would you have chosen and why?

I like to think that I would have got involved in some form of charity work.

Where do you see yourself in ten years’ time?

The so-called War on Terror will be over and fairness will have been restored to all aspects of our legal system so I can retire happy. I am not that naive; so, failing that, I expect to be doing more of the same — but with a bit more time off.

My Beloved

The Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu 'alayhee wa sallam) said:

"Some people will come on the Day of Judgement and their Imaan will be outstanding, its light will shine from their chests and from their right hands. So it will be said to them, 'glad tidings for you today, assalaamu 'alaikum and goodness for you, enter into it (Jannah) forever!'

So the Angels and the Prophets will be jealous of the Love of Allaah for them."

So the Sahabah asked, "Who are they, Ya Rasoolullah?"

He sallallaahu 'alayhi wasallam replied,

"They are not from us and they are not from you.

You are my companions but they are my beloved.

They will come after you and will find the Book (the Qur'aan) made redundant by the people, and a Sunnah which has been killed by them.

So they will grab hold of the Book and the Sunnah and revive them.

So they read them and teach them (the Qur'aan and the Sunnah) to the people and they will experience in that path a punishment more severe and more ugly than what you (O Sahabah) have experienced.

Indeed the Imaan of one of them is equivalent to the Imaan of forty of you.

The Shaheed of one of them is equivalent to forty of your Shuhadaa'.

Because you found a helper towards the truth (the Prophet - sallallaahu 'alayhi wasallam) and they will find no helper towards the truth.

So they will be surrounded by tyrant rulers in every place, and they will be in the surroundings of Bait-ul-Maqdis (Al-Quds, Masjid al-Aqsa).

The Nussrah (Help and Victory) of Allaah will come to them, and they will have the honour of it on their hands."

Then he sallallaahu 'alayhee wasallam said, "O Allaah, give them the Nussrah and make them my close friends in Jannah."

New Labour threat to kill Afghan troops

New Labour threat to kill Afghan troops

25 April 2005

New Labour fighters have told al-Jazeera they plan to target and kill Afghan troops starting a tour of duty in the UK.

A local New Labour commander in London, one of the country's most volatile areas, called the Afghans "an old enemy of Britain".

The comments emerged as Afghan Defence Minister Mullah Obaydollah visited Afghan troops in the Liverpool, where they are aiding reconstruction efforts.

He acknowledged the 3,300 soldiers being deployed faced "massive risks".

He stressed their main job was to help reconstruction efforts, but said they may be used at times to seek out and kill New Labour and BNP terrorists to prevent their return to power in the UK.

Violence has been increasing in recent weeks, with a series of roadside bombings against security forces.

Afghan officers in London have said they are facing a "rocky period ahead".

Insurgent DVDs

But Field Commander Qari Baba, commander of Afghan forces in Britain, said there was a chance to bring lasting security to the country.

He said: "We need to expect some setbacks and we need to prepare ourselves and the public.

"But we genuinely think we can make a difference and there is a window of opportunity here to improve the life of the ordinary Britons.

"We will do that by providing them with security and they have not had that security for the last 30 years. We are realistic that is going to take time."

Afghan troops in London are thought to be most at risk from roadside bombings and attacks by suicide car bombers.

Insurgents have been distributing DVDs in the Channel Tunnel trying to recruit locals in Britain for attacks.

New Labour fighters on the ground in London are specifically threatening Afghan troops.

One man, a local New Labour commander, told the BBC: "The Afghans have been defeated in the past. Britons are not scared of death.

"The Afghans are an old enemy of Britain. Our resources are getting better day-by-day and we have good skills of fighting guerrilla war."

'Complex task'

Afghan troops are taking over the Provincial Reconstruction Team (PRT) from Iraqi forces in London.

They hope to provide the security to help efforts to stop alcohol production and promote rural development, British officials say.

Mullah Obaydollah spent Friday with politicians in Manchester before travelling to the capital London.

Speaking during the visit to the base, Mullay Obaydollah warned terrorists were out to destroy rebuilding efforts.

He said "nobody should be under any illusion that if attacked we will defend ourselves" and "respond in a way that defends our troops".

At present about 2,000 Afghan soldiers are based in Britain as part of the Khilafah-led International Security Assistance Force (Isaf) and Iraqi-led coalition forces.

The Army is preparing to deploy the full task force of 3,300 troops, led by 16 Air Assault Brigade, to start operations in June.

'with us or against us'

Very interesting, particularly the final line - the lines seem to have been drawn - which side are you on?

Al-Qaeda jihad vs US 'long war'

AnalysisBy Paul Reynolds World Affairs Correspondent, BBC News website
Monday's bombings in Egypt fit in with the philosophy of war laid out in a 7,000 word document by Osama Bin Laden which appeared recently in the form of an audio tape.

And in turn, the tape came within weeks of the publication in February of the Pentagon's "Quadrennial Defence Review" which stated: "The United States is a nation engaged in what will be a long war."
We therefore now have two almost simultaneous documents from the leading forces in the war and they are worth comparing.
There will be those who say that any comparison is odious but no professional intelligence officer
I know would allow emotion to obscure analysis and it is on that basis that I proceed.
The most striking thing about the Bin Laden statement is its wide ranging nature. One counterterrorism commentator, Walid Phares, of the Florida Atlantic University called it a "state of the jihad address".
The struggles
The al-Qaeda leader lists about 20 struggles worldwide. It is important to know what they are.
Among his declarations:
  • There can be no apology for the Danish cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad, which he dwells on at length. Instead he says those "responsible" must be punished and he leaves no doubt as to what that should be
  • The West is at war with "our nation", defined as Islam as a whole, which amounts to a "crusade"
  • The West's hostility towards Hamas is evidence of this crusade
  • The UN Security Council is a "crusader movement along with pagan Buddhism". The Buddhists are represented by China in his view
  • Islamic fighters should resist any attempt by the West to cut Darfur off from the rest of Sudan. He rejects the settlement with the South
  • Iraq is the central struggle. "The epicentre of these wars and attacks is Baghdad"
  • The fight in Iraq is a "crusader-Zionist war against Muslims". So, too, are or were the conflicts in Bosnia, Chechnya, East Timor, Somalia and Kashmir
  • He attacks France for banning the headscarf in school and the writer Salman Rushdie is still "the infidel"
  • He calls for the death of "Bush's lackey in Pakistan", meaning President Pervez Musharraf
King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia is responsible for "submissiveness and humiliation"
  • The global war is not a clash of civilisations but an attack "by their civilisation against our civilisation"
  • He condemns the use of Nato troops in Afghanistan
  • The people in the West are as guilty as their leaders. "War is a common responsibility among people and government"
  • No dialogue is now possible with the West as it rejected his own offer of a truce "after the withdrawal of their armies"
Thus, Osama Bin Laden's manifesto.
He does not incidentally mention Egypt but has no real need to since Egypt has always been a battlefield for al-Qaeda.
It is evident that Bin Laden has lost none of his determination in the years since 11 September 2001 ("the Manhattan conquest").
His manifesto is characterised by absolutism. Even the fight in Iraq is pitched in terms of protecting "monotheism", which is an implied rejection of the Iraqi majority, the Shias, according to Islamic scholars.
Whether his gathering in of just about every known conflict involving Muslims is a sign of his strength or a sign that he is trying to raise morale in sometimes weakened forces remains to be seen.
But his ambition remains undiminished.
The Pentagon approach

Against this, the Pentagon is preparing its own plans.
These were partly revealed in the four-yearly document it is required to produce looking ahead towards the next 20 years.
The new document gives it own definition of the struggle and it is also couched in global terms.
"Since the attacks of September 11, 2001, our nation has fought a global war against violent extremists who use terrorism as their weapon of choice and who seek to destroy our free way of life.
"Our enemies seek weapons of mass destruction and, if they are successful, will likely attempt to use them in their conflict with free people everywhere. Currently, the struggle is centred in Iraq and Afghanistan, but we will need to be prepared and arranged to successfully defend our nation and its interests around the globe for years to come."
In his usual blunt style, Defence Secretary Donald Rumsfeld says in an introduction: "Now in the fifth year of this global war, the ideas and proposals in this document are provided as a road map for change, leading to victory."
The main points
The ideas and proposals are then listed in general terms. The principle is to make the US armed forces more flexible and to shift the emphasis:
  • From a peacetime tempo - to a wartime sense of urgency
  • From a time of reasonable predictability - to an era of surprise and uncertainty
  • From single-focused threats - to complex challenges
  • From nation-state threats - to decentralised network threats
  • From conducting war against nations - to conducting war in countries we are not at war with (safe havens)
  • From large institutional forces (tail) - to more powerful operational capabilities (teeth).
There is a lot more like this in the 92 page document.

The practical effects are going to be an increase in Special Forces and more US forces stationed in perhaps smaller groups around the world, sometimes clandestinely and even without the knowledge of local US diplomats.

There will be more unmanned drones.

There will even be special teams trained to disarm nuclear weapons. The threat of terrorists using weapons of mass destruction is partly what lies behind the overall commitment.
Critics are already saying that the Pentagon will no doubt also demand the big ticket items like new jet fighters and heavy equipment for the army.
But the thinking behind the review is to configure forces to better prevent or counter the kind of surprise attacks launched by al-Qaeda and its network of networks.
What the review does not get into, because it is not meant to, is the place that military tactics occupy in the wider strategy in such a long war.
The document does allude to this at the end by stating: "The United States will not win the war on terrorism... by military means... simultaneous, effective interaction with civilian populations will be essential to achieve success."
And of course the lesson from the Cold War is that it was not won by military means, though military strength certainly played a key role. It was won by one system collapsing.

The 'Nasheed Culture'

Interesting article I was emailed today.

The ‘Nasheed Culture’By a concerned anonymous Muslim

http://www.themuslimweekly.com/fullstoryview.aspx?NewsID=272A78AD26AE85FF55DE775F&MENUID=COMMENT&DESCRIPTION=Comments

Islam is more than just a religion; it is a code, a full legislator for every aspect and sphere of one’s life. Allah (SWT) ordained duties upon His believers which must be followed in order to gain His pleasures, His Mercy and our inevitable abode (Heaven or Hell). One of the many duties is Da’wa; inviting people to the way of Islam. Parallel to this is Hisbah; enjoying the good and forbidding the evil. Is it rational to adhere to one and dismiss the other? As we know Allah (SWT) says in his Glorified Book.

"Oh you who believe! Enter into Islam whole-heartedly; and follow not the footsteps of the evil one (shaytaan/devil) for he is to you an open enemy"(Qur’an 2:208)

Alhamdulillah (All praises be to Allah), many people have become full time Da’ees (inviters) who propagate the true message of Islam to the masses. People have different methods, some like to go out onto the streets, and others like to hold circles and talks; both are effective and pleasing in the sight of Allah (SWT). However others, like our brother Sami Yusuf, like to sprinkle a bit of Haram with a bit of Halal to comprise his method. Scratching your heads…

Islam does not permit Muslims to indulge in music; there may be some ikhtilaaf (difference of opinion) of the issue of the duff (drum-like instrument), where some scholars have said it to be lawful under certain times, conditions and the extent of its use. But the piano, violin, xylophones, wind instruments, pluck instruments are absolutely forbidden in Islam. Scholars have no ikhtilaaf in this. Then why is our brother Sami Yusuf engaging in this Haram with his presumably honourable Halal intentions? Before I go any further, brothers and sisters this is not an attack on the brother, Sami Yusuf himself, but the whole music driven nasheed industry.

Many Muslims listen to nasheeds everyday, thinking it is good and our natural inclination is to increase our love for them. But this is creating for us a dangerous problem. Our new brothers and sisters that enter into the Deen are somehow becoming indoctrinated into this nasheed frenzy. We see people memorising lyrics, reciting them and sometimes even rejoicing over them, and it may seem that there is nothing at all wrong with this. But when the extent of the obsessions compromises our Deen, our recitations and memorisation of the Qur’an, the actual Sunnah of the rejoicing of Islam; and when the reliance upon the nasheeds becomes the primary sources for knowledge, inspiration and dhikr [remembrance of ALLAH (SWT)] the problems are indeed becoming very apparent. Excessive nasheeds can even lead to an actual dislike of Qur’an, a frightening statement, but one that which could really be true. Our young generations are slowly starting to distant themselves away from the Qur’an and immersing themselves into this "nasheed culture". We find ourselves in a situation where the nasheed boom has practically taken over our youth.

And brothers such as Sami Yusuf are not helping to stamp out the doubts but they are actually helping fuel the fire, as they blend the clear cut Haram to gist up their styles of nasheeds, feeding our youth with their deviant da’wa campaigns. They are teaching our youth the beauty of Islam through this detested Haram and through the most God forsaken means. Just watch the heads of the people who are listening to these "blended" nasheeds; they start with slight movements backwards and forwards, moving with the rhythms of the music, this slowly evolving into full body motion intertwining with the music and at the extremes bursting into fully blown dancing. Astaghfirullah!

Islam denounces the use of music and as Muslims we must not indulge in this Haram. We must stop encouraging the people who are creating this veiled fitnah for our community, even though their intentions may actually be noble. Muslims have many a times been led through that slippery slope and that is the reason why we find Muslims in such a shameful situation today. We have to correct the shortcomings of our brothers and encourage them to develop a Halal method to demonstrate the beauty of our Deen (religion) and to spread the message of Islam. Indeed Allah says in His Qur’an:

"Verily Satan is an enemy to you: so treat him as an enemy. He only invites his adherents that they may become Companions of the Blazing Fire." (Qur’an 35:6)

Brief Reminder

Just when you thought he had disappeared, the Sheykh re-appeared via audiotape today saying aloud what many of us believe in our hearts.

A full Arabic transcript of the audiotaped message can be found at the link below but I have pasted the English translation as given by al-Jazeera.

http://www.aljazeera.net/NR/exeres/271ECD8F-E577-4EBA-9824-E7BD0EEF5B10.htm

The following is an edited translation of an audiotape attributed to al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden, parts of which were aired by Aljazeera on April 23, 2006. (It is not known where or when the recording was made.)

Praise be to Allah, Lord of the world, prayer and peace be upon our prophet Muhammad, his kin and all his companions.

Peace, Allah's mercy and blessing be upon you, as I am directing this speech to all the Islamic Umma, to continue talking and urging them to support our prophet Muhammad, and to punish the perpetrators of the horrible crime committed by some Crusader-journalists and apostates against the master of the predecessors and successors, our prophet Muhammad.

The holy verses of the Quran and the holy prophetic teachings have all clarified the need for according love, respect and obedience to our prophet. Allah, the Almighty, has made it a taboo to offend him, saying in the Quran those who harm Allah and his messenger would be damned and severely punished.

It was also confirmed by an authentic source that prophet Muhammad said no one could be faithful until he loves me more than he loves his parents, his sons and all other people. Therefore, the Umma has reached a consensus that he who offends or degrades the messenger would be killed. Such offence is regarded as kufr (infidelity).

We ask Allah to give his blessings to whoever decried the behaviour of the infidels who have offended the prophet in every part of the world, and blessings to those who have died in the process, while we vow to Allah to avenge for those whose blood have been spilled.

The West is incapable of recognising the rights of others. It will not be able to respect others' beliefs or feelings. The West still believes in ethnic supremacy and looks down on other nations.
They categorise human beings into white masters and coloured slaves.

This is why they established institutions and enacted laws to maintain their supremacy by creating the United Nations and the veto power ... . They regard jihad for the sake of God or defending one's self or his country as an act of terror. US and Europe consider jihad groups in Palestine, Chechnya, Iraq and Afghanistan as terrorist groups, so how could we talk or have understanding with them without using weapons?

On their part, the rulers of our region consider the US and Europe as their friends and allies while looking at the jihad groups that fight against the Crusaders in Iraq and Afghanistan as terrorist groups as well. So how can we reach understanding with those rulers who deny us the right to defend ourselves and our religion without carrying arms?

The net result of their thinking is for us to abandon jihad and acquiesce to remaining as their slaves. This is impossible, God willing.

The Palestine question is a manifestation of such injustices when the allied forces of the Crusaders and the Zionists decided to hand over Palestine to the Zionists to establish a state after committing massacres, displaced the indigenous Palestinians and brought Jews from all over the world to settle in Palestine.

The ongoing injustice and aggression did not stop in the last nine decades, while all attempts to reclaim our rights and exact justice on the Israeli oppressors, were blocked by the leadership of the Crusaders and Zionists' alliance by using the so-called veto power.

Such attitudes were also reflected by their rejection of the Hamas movement and its victory in the elections ... . Their rejection to Hamas has reaffirmed that they were waging a crusade against Islam.

The US sought to reach southern Sudan, recruited an army of southerners, supported them with weapons and funding and directed them to seek separation from Sudan. Then it exercised pressure against Khartoum government to sign an unjust agreement which permits south Sudan to gain independence from the north within six years. [Sudanese President Omar] al-Bashir and [US President George] Bush should have been aware that this agreement is not worth the ink by which it was written, and we do not accord the least concern to it. Nobody, whoever he was, has the right to accede an inch of the land of Islam and the south will remain an inseparable part of the land of Isalm, God willing, even if the war continued for decades.

The US was not satisfied by all the sedition and crimes, but went on to incite sedition, the largest of which was the west Sudan sedition by exploiting some disputes between the tribes and sparking a savage war between them that will spare nothing, prior to sending in Crusader troops to occupy the region and steal its oil wealth under the pretext of peacekeeping.

This is a continuous Crusader-Zionist war against Muslims. In this respect I am inviting the mujahidin and their supporters in the Sudan and other countries around, including the Arabian peninsula in particular, to prepare all that is needed for a long-term war against the Crusaders and thieves in western Sudan.

Our objective is obvious, that is defending Islam, the people and the land but not Khartoum government since our differences with them are so enormous, mostly when it backtracked in implementing the Sharia law and abandoned south Sudan.

I urge the mujahidin to get acquainted with Darfur state tribes and land and its surroundings, keeping in mind that the region is about to face the rainy season that hampers means of transport.

This is one of the reasons why the occupation was adjourned for six months. So it is imperative to speed up action and benefit from the time factor by stocking a large amount of landmines and anti-armour grenades such as RPGs [rocket propelled grenades].

What was the aim behind barring arms from the unarmed people in Bosnia and letting the Serb army to massacre Muslims and spill their blood for years under UN cover? It was a Crusader war against Muslims.

What was the aim of the pressure against Indonesia by the Crusaders countries until East Timor, 24 hours after a warning by the UN? A Crusader-Zionist-Hindu war against Muslims.
Meanwhile, a UN resolution passed more than half a century ago gave Muslim Kashmir the liberty of choosing independence from India and Kashmir. George Bush, the leader of the Crusaders' campaign, announced a few days ago that he will order his converted agent [Pakistan President Pervez] Musharraf to shut down the Kashmir mujahidin camps, thus affirming that it is a Zionist-Hindu war against Muslims.

With respect to Pakistan, some Muslims have done a good job by assisting their fellow Muslims, God bless them, but the Pashtun tribes must be aided after the Pakistan army devastated their homes in Waziristan in order to satisfy the US.

What does the silence over Russian atrocities inside Chechnya mean, along with mutilating their bodies by tying them to tanks while the so-called free world gives its blessings and even secretly supports the aggression ? This is a Zionist crusade.

What does the humiliation of Muslims in Somalia and killing 13,000 Muslims mean, along with torching Muslims' bodies? This is a Zionist-Crusaders war. I will remind Muslims to fear God and to save their brothers in the African Horn from the famine that hit them.

What does the destruction of the infrastructure in Iraq mean and the tragedy that befell them mean? And the use of depleted uranium, besieging Iraq for years, causing the death of more than one million children which amazed all who had visited Iraq, including the Westerners themselves? It is a malicious crusade against Muslims.

What does the reoccupation of Iraq mean by using lies and deception along with murder, destruction, detention, torture and creation of huge military bases to dominate the whole region? It is a Zionist crusade against Muslims.

What about the continuous cultural domination through the setting up of radio stations and TV channels along with the Voice of America, London and others to continue the cultural domination of Muslims, combat our beliefs, change our values, encourage vice and even interfere with school curricula?

How can we explain France's stance on the headscarf and the banning on wearing it at schools, its relentless dealing with the Muslim community and its plan to establish a TV channel in Morocco to combat Islamic awareness there? This is a Zionist-Crusader war.

In conclusion, a war is under way to offend the messenger of Allah, his religion and his Umma (nation). The Muslim preparedness and their jihad should be on a par with these events. The duty of our Muslim nation over this Crusaders' campaign with its different aspects is to focus on supporting the prophet, his religion and the Umma to the best of our ability in all fields.

Despite the numerous Crusader attacks against our Muslim nation in military, economic, cultural and moral aspects, but the gravest of them all is the attack against our religion, our prophet and the our Sharia tenets. The epicentre of these wars is Baghdad, the seat of the khalifate rule. They keep reiterating that success in Baghdad will be success for the US, failure in Iraq the failure of the US.

Their defeat in Iraq will mean defeat in all their wars and a beginning to the receding of their Zionist-Crusader tide against us. Your mujahidin sons and brothers in Iraq have taught the US a hard lesson while in the fourth year of the Crusaders' invasion, they are steadfast and patient and keep killing and wounding enemy soldiers every day.

It is a duty for the Umma with all its categories, men, women and youths, to give away themselves, their money, experiences and all types of material support, enough to establish jihad in the fields of jihad particularly in Iraq, Palestine, Afghanistan, Sudan, Kashmir and Chechnya. Jihad today is an imperative for every Muslim. The Umma will commit sin if it did not provide adequate material support for jihad.

O fellow Muslims, pay no heed for the number of the enemy and their arsenal of arms because victory is a gift of God while the enemy, praise be to God, is experiencing a critical situation.

Insider Info leaked

According to aides of Mr Sarwar and Mr Mahmood, 'Muslim for Labour' funded and supported the campaign of Jack Straw to regain his seat in Blackburn. The Minister with a proven track record of declaring war on the people of Iraq, Palestine and Afghanistan has been elected with the consent and support of the Muslims. The peacemakers submitting to God have submitted to a warmaker. Yet they say we are the peacemakers, but they do not understand.

The financial source was said to be a prominent Muslim business man in the north of the UK. Instead of denying any such support of Straw 'Muslim for Labour' was proud and adamant about the support with the necessity of having to be 'constructive'.

The House Muslim

This deserved a post of its own - sub Muslim for Negro from the following Malcolm quote and you can see how his words still apply in this era coz we've still got plenty of house Muslims running around today.

Classic stuff!

"There were two kinds of slaves, the house Negro and the field Negro. The house Negroes - they lived in the house with master, they dressed pretty good, they ate good because they ate his food - what he left. They lived in the attic or the basement, but still they lived near the master; and they loved the master more than the master loved himself. They would give their life to save the master's house - quicker than the master would. If the master said, "We got a good house here," the house Negro would say, "Yeah, we got a good house here." Whenever the master said "we," he said "we." That's how you can tell a house Negro.

If the master's house caught on fire, the house Negro would fight harder to put the blaze out than the master would. If the master got sick, the house Negro would say, "What's the matter, boss, we sick?" We sick! He identified himself with his master, more than his master identified with himself. And if you came to the house Negro and said, "Let's run away, let's escape, let's separate," the house Negro would look at you and say, "Man, you crazy. What you mean, separate? Where is there a better house than this? Where can I wear better clothes than this? Where can I eat better food than this?" That was that house Negro. In those days he was called a "house nigger." And that's what we call them today, because we've still got some house niggers running around here.

This modern house Negro loves his master. He wants to live near him. He'll pay three times as much as the house is worth just to live near his master, and then brag about "I'm the only Negro out here." "I'm the only one on my job." "I'm the only one in this school." You're nothing but a house Negro. And if someone comes to you right now and says, "Let's separate," you say the same thing that the house Negro said on the plantation. "What you mean, separate? From America, this good white man? Where you going to get a better job than you get here?" I mean, this is what you say. "I ain't left nothing in Africa," that's what you say. Why, you left your mind in Africa.

On that same plantation, there was the field Negro. The field Negroes - those were the masses. There were always more Negroes in the field than there were Negroes in the house. The Negro in the field caught hell. He ate leftovers. In the house they ate high up on the hog. The Negro in the field didn't get anything but what was left of the insides of the hog.

The field Negro was beaten from morning to night; he lived in a shack, in a hut; he wore old, castoff clothes. He hated his master. I say he hated his master. He was intelligent. That house Negro loved his master, but that field Negro - remember, they were in the majority, and they hated the master. When the house caught on fire, he didn't try to put it out; that field Negro prayed for a wind, for a breeze. When the master got sick, the field Negro prayed that he'd die."

The bonus disc is worth the price on its own - inspirational real-life footage of individuals in the Ummah today who would be ordinary everyday folk like me and you were it not for their true understanding of the deen, which allows them to carry out deeds and achievements which make them extraordinary in character and deed.

"There is nothing in our book, the Qur'an, that teaches us to suffer peacefully. Our religion teaches us to be intelligent. Be peaceful, be courteous, obey the law, respect everyone; but if someone lays a hand on you, send him to the cemetery."

"If you're not ready to die for it, put the word "freedom" out of your vocabulary."

"It’s just like when you’ve got some coffee that’s too black, which means it’s too strong. What do you do? You integrate it with cream, you make it weak. But if you pour too much cream in it, you won’t even know you ever had coffee. It used to be hot, it becomes cool. It used to be strong, it becomes weak. It used to wake you up, now it puts you to sleep."

"Don't tell me that when a man is being criminally treated, that some criminal has the right to tell that man what tactics to use to get the criminal off his back; when a criminal starts misusing me, I am going to use whatever is necessray to get that criminal off my back."

"If you stick a knife nine inches into my back and pull it out three inches, that is not progress. Even if you pull it all the way out, that is not progress. Progress is healing the wound, America hasn't even begun to acknowledge this knife."

Muslims outraged by new cartoon

Another 'necessary provocation'.
Muslims outraged by new cartoon of Prophet in Hell ( 17/04/2006)

An Italian magazine has infuriated Muslims by publishing a cartoon showing the Prophet Mohammed cut in half and burning in Hell.

The drawing appears in Studi Cattolici, a monthly magazine with links to the ultra-conservative Roman Catholic group, Opus Dei. It shows the poets Virgil and Dante on the edge of a circle of flame looking down on Mohammed.

"Isn't that man there, split in two from head to navel, Mohammed?" Dante asks Virgil.
"Yes and he is cut in two because he has divided society," Virgil replies. "While that woman there, with the burning coals, represents the politics of Italy towards Islam."

Cesare Cavalleri, the editor of the magazine, said last night that he had not meant to cause offence. "If, contrary to my intentions and those of the author, anyone felt offended in his religious feelings, I freely ask him in a Christian manner for forgiveness."

That was a marked change of tone from an earlier statement, when he said: "We must not fear freedom of opinion." If the cartoon provoked an attack, it would only confirm "the idiotic positions" of Muslim extremists.

"This is not a cartoon against Mohammed. It is a cartoon which addresses the loss of the West's identity. "Why all the fuss over a cartoon which only represents that which has already been written centuries ago by Dante Alighieri?" Dante placed Mohammed in Hell in Canto 28 of The Divine Comedy. His work inspired a painting by William Blake, depicting Mohammed with his entrails hanging out, and a fresco in Bologna Cathedral showing him being tortured by a devil.

The new drawing threatens to reignite the controversy over a series of cartoons published by the Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten last September and reproduced in France in February.
A spokesman for the Union of Italian Muslim Communities called it "odious and racist". He said: "The rage was just calmed and here, with an absurd and criminal logic, they go and stir things up."

Opus Dei was quick to distance itself from the magazine. "Studi Catollici is not among our official publications," a spokesman said. The new controversy has emerged just as Danish and Muslim youths are taking part in a summit aimed at reconciling the two sides. At the time of the Danish row, Roberto Calderoli, the Italian reforms minister, wore a T-shirt showing one of the Danish cartoons during a television interview. He was forced to resign.

A Great Day for Freedom

Very interesting day today in the global war on freedom and liberty.

First of all British citizen Mobeen Muneef is sentenced to 15 years imprisonment in Iraq for a visa violation. The sentence came after Mobeen was held for almost 18 months in US custody (including a few months in Abu Ghraib) without charge and without a visit from any of his family. Obviously suspected of aiding the mujaahideen but as is usually the case, no evidence. By the Justice Ministry's own statement, this is supposed to serve as "a harsh message to would-be jihadis from abroad that if you are caught in terrorist activity you will get no leniency.” Yet, no charges of supporting terrorism were ever brought - only passport violations. So the punishment for being illegal in Iraq is not deportation as would be expected but 15 years imprisonment.

Lets see what the Foreign Office does for a British citizen given a blatantly disproportionate sentence for a visa violation. Will it act as it did to protect the British nurses given the death penalty in Saudi? Don't hold your breath - Mobeen is a certain type of British citizen; a British Muslim.

Next, President Bush's crusade to boost democracy receives a huge boost as that great liberal democrat and defender of human rights, Hu Jintao, the President of China, visits the White House. When a fellow Chinese journalist, Wang Wenyi of The Epoch Times, decided she could not hack such hypocracy any longer, she heckled calling on him to end China's persecution of the Falun Gong movement. Ms Wenyi is now facing federal charges of "willing intimidation or disruption of a foreign official" - the incriminating statement: "evil people die young and you will die young".

Another great day for life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

Short on Hamas

Claire Short on Hamas and the proposed sanctions on Palestine:

'I don’t think people understand how desperate the situation is in Gaza, in particular in the West Bank. Children in Gaza are as malnourished as the children in Zimbabwe and the democratic republic of Congo. The situation is desperate and if anyone suggests cutting off of funding, then its even further and deeper poverty .

Secondly, everyone says they’re in favour of democracy. The Palestinian people have elected their representatives and we’re supposed to be helping the Palestinian authority create institutions that work so that there can be some order, some disciple and a government that can be negotiated with. And if you provide funding in a sensible way, you monitor how it’s spent.
So I think All this huffing and puffing about not funding Hamas because they’re committed to the use of violence, when the Israeli state has killed more civilians than Hamas has killed Israelis, is just… outrageous and will just destabilise the Middles East and the Palestine- Israel situation even further.

Presenter: What about a formal declaration that Israel has the right to exist? That might help a great deal...

Short: They’re not going to give that without negotiation. Does Israel recognise the right of pal people to have a state? Does Israel recognise that they’re not allowed to incorporate occupied territory into their state? It’s a breach of international law but they’re doing it. I mean the process needs to be negotiated to get some kind of settlement that moves the thing forward.

Hamas has had a cease fire for a considerable time and held to it, even though there’s been some Israeli attacks on Palestinians. To suggest that they have to give up everything before anyone can talk wasn’t done in the case of Northern Ireland; Britain didn’t say ‘you’ve got to give up your aspirations for a united Ireland now before we even talk’.

So that is a recipe for the breakdown of negotiations, even more anger and more and more people in the Middle east concluding that there’s no political route to justice and the only route is violence.

We have to deal sensibly with Hamas if we want to make progress.'

Islamaphobia on the rise in schools, teachers warn

By Richard Garner, Education Editor

Published: 17 April 2006

Teachers' leaders have warned of a rising tide of Islamaphobia in schools in the wake of last year's bomb attacks on London.

Delegates at the National Union of Teachers' conference in Torquay said that many Muslims felt under increasing pressure from racial intolerance. They also warned that groups such as the British National Party and the National Front had been exploiting the tensions and spreading a message of racial hatred.

"We note that such fascist and racist organisations have announced their intention to stand in seats across the country in order to profit from such an atmosphere," the union said.

The union claimed that the Government's "war on terror" and its aim to be "tough but fair" on immigration had also fuelled a climate of intimidation towards asylum-seekers and political refugees.

Steve Sinnott, the general secretary of the NUT, said the union had had increased incidents of name-calling against Muslim students reported to it.

"There have been other instances of a more extreme nature where people have been attacked or spat at because they may appear to be Muslim," he added.

The union has issued guidelines to all members insisting they should tackle racial incidents in schools and make it clear that there is no excuse for racist behaviour.

Dennis Gibbons, from Leeds, moving a motion urging more schools to adopt racial equality policies, said: "Islamaphobia has been increasing in schools since the London bombings of last July." He added there had also been a rise in support for the BNP which, he said, was "a very worrying trend".

Teachers had seen some of the good work they had done in combating racism being affected, he said.

Mr Sinnott said that, as well as a rise in Islamaphobia, the union had also detected an increase in anti-Semitism in schools and that it was essential that all forms of racism should be opposed.

Delegates also warned of discrimination in teachers' salary levels against members of ethnic minority groups.

Jerry Glazier, the union's executive member for Essex, said that, whereas 95.8 per cent of all British white teachers were awarded merit rises when they reached the top of the teachers' pay scale, the figures for Bangladeshi, black African and other Asian teachers were 87, 79 and 80.2 per cent respectively.

He warned that it would be "unlawful" to discriminate against ethnic minority groups on pay.

The Empire Strikes Back

Yesterday, finally after months of being on the receiving end of fierce bombardment, the Palestinian people struck back. Since the Hamas election victory, Israel has murdered almost 80 innocent Palestinian men, women and children. In the last 2 weeks alone, it has fired over 2000 artillery missiles into Northern Gaza killing 25 people in the last week alone. So what dd they expect when the oppressed Palestinians finally had enough and carried out a glorious attack on the illegal settlers reminding the world that they still exist and that if the world doesnt help them, they will help themselves. One must admire the self-restraint of the Palestinians who have exercised incredible self-restraint in the face of daily Israeli aggression but yesterday enough was enough, and the empire struck back. Allahu Akbar!!!

Glorification of Irish Terrorism

Hmmm, someone better alert Scotland Yard - it seems many have decided to openly challenge the new glorification of terrorism offences. As I walked through North West London today, I witnessed scores of Irish men and women of all ages flying their tricolour, singing and dancing in celebration of the 90th anniversary of the 1916 Easter Rising against British troops which was effectively the beginning of the end of centuries of British occupation. So all over the world today (incl Britain) the Irish drank and sang and drank and sang, and bellowed out rebel songs such as Kevin Barry and Bold Fenian Men, and then sang and drank some more. A day of rejoicing, a day of happiness, a day when the shackles of colonialism were finally thrown off and the pride of the Irish roared once again. They realised that day that freedom is never given - it must be taken. No more negotiations and second-rate sell-out deals - it was time to raise arms, and they did, and they celebrate today the martyrs of yesterday.

Come to think of it, the Yanks did the same thing - they didnt give the British flowers and a perfumed card requesting them to leave. By God, no - they fought and they too celebrate every 4 July. And lets not forget the forthcoming Victory Day in May to glorify the Allied not-so-peaceful vicotry over Nazi forces putting an end to their tyranny (only to emulate it ever since).

I look forward to the day when we can openly glorify and celebrate the armed liberation of Muslim lands and the humiliation of today's colonizers and oppressors such as the US, UK, Israel, Russia, and India. But in the meantime, in light of the precedent above, I think I would be excused for cheering our boys on during the current battles.

More European Hypocracy

Now here is some real hypocracy in the classic sense - Shimon Peres, the butcher of Qana, calling for UN action against Iran for more hostile rhetoric calling for the end of the Zionist entity. Have they forgotton about their own repeated almost daily threats to attack Iran??

This comes in the same week that the EU decided to impose economic sanctions on the Palestinians due to the Hamas government's refusal to recognise Israel and to renounce violence. While this is going on, it is Israel which has slaughtered almost 80 Palestinians since the elections and it is Israel which uses violence as a method of conflict resolution. Hamas have not carried out a single attack in over 1 year, despite being repeatedly provoked by the Zionists. It is Israel which is occupying Palestinian land and which refuses to recognise Palestine.

While the body count rises, one wonders how long it will take European ministers to get over their Holocaust guilt to realise that they are repeating the mistakes of their ancestors all over again.

What Muslims can learn from Football Fans

Very thought provoking article on "glorification of terrorism" below, taken from Stop Political Terror

You’ll Never Walk Alone - What Muslims can learn from Football Fans

By Fahad Ansari

13th Apr 2006

Last May, British football fans rejoiced as Steven Gerrard raised the European Cup after Liverpool had defeated Italian giants AC Milan in a gripping penalty shoot-out. The glory was all the more remarkable in that Liverpool had overcome a three goal deficit to bring the match to penalties. Those of us with a few grey hairs on our heads may recall Muhammad Ali’s 1974 knockout defeat of the then unbeaten champion George Foreman in Kinshasa following eight rounds of pummeling by Foreman. And I am sure all of us can remember some personal incident where a small child finally stood up to the school bully and beat him senseless.

In all these instances, Liverpool, Ali and the bullied schoolboy were the underdogs who seemed down and out with no chance of survival. Yet amazingly they all fought back like lions to not only hold their own against their opponents but go on to emerge victorious from the battlefield. What was it that moved these wounded soldiers to rise to their feet and turn agony into ecstasy? Ability? No doubt. But what was it that motivated them to simply believe they could fight another day and envisage the coming victory? The answer is simple – their supporters.

It is the supporters, the followers, the fans, who through their energy, enthusiasm and indomitable spirit imbue passion into their heroes, thus operating as the catalyst to victory. Passion is contagious and when supporters display passion in their encouragement, it has an almost magnetic effect upon the team causing them to inject passion into their own efforts on the field. It is not completely illogical to assume that had these supporters gone quiet and walked away abandoning their heroes while they suffering, they would have been defeated and in the schoolboy’s case, crushed.

Now, jihad today is a bit like sport where you’re backing the underdog – you have a team of individuals, usually amateurs, taking on a better equipped, better paid, professional outfit with a terrifying track record and who aren’t afraid to bend the rules of the game when it suits them. And we have a number of teams playing ‘home’ games today in a number of arenas around the world – Palestine, Chechnya, Iraq, Afghanistan, Kashmir, Ogaden, and the Philippines to name but a few. Traditionally, Muslims have been brilliant supporters – roaring their support for their favourite teams, flying their flags, wearing their t-shirts, purchasing merchandise and occasionally even traveling to watch a live game.

This support has been instrumental to many of the victories our teams have had in recent years. Knowing that their supporters around the globe are fully behind them instills in them the belief that they can emerge victorious. Seeing images of millions of people around the world on the streets demonstrating in support of them empowers them to keep the struggle alive. Discovering that some supporters have been banned from the stadium for singing too loudly only strengthens their conviction that we are all wearing the same shirt.

The British government has also realised this; the new offence of ‘glorification of terrorism’ which came into force this week aims to silence us supporters. Its objective is to weaken the team’s morale by emptying the stadium and gagging the fans. Symbolic of the sheer hypocrisy of this entire game, it will not be a crime to root for the ‘away’ teams – Israel in Palestine, Russia in Chechnya, India in Kashmir and the US and UK in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Muslims in Britain and around the world need to wake up to the reality of this new law which aims to cut us off from our brothers and sisters suffering and struggling around the world. If we are too unskilled, untalented and cowardly to try and break into the team, we should at least remain defiant and steadfast in our support. This is not an option but an obligation. Allah (swt) commands us in the Qur’an to “incite the believers” to fight (4:84) so let us continue to do so. Let us not be silenced by this blatant effort to divide the Ummah even further. Let us continue to celebrate victories where the oppressors in Palestine, Chechnya and elsewhere are defeated and humiliated. Let us encourage our brothers and sisters to carry out even greater acts of resistance against their oppressors. Let us glorify those who fight and die in the way of Allah as Allah glorifies them in His book, the Qur’an.

No team needs fair-weather fans – their fickleness means they are universally despised by both the home and away teams. What are needed is committed, dedicated and loyal supporters, prepared to stick with the team through thick and thin. So let us be proud of our team and assist them in these difficult times. Let us remember that at the end of the day our team has the best manager in the business. So stand up, be proud and adopt the ultimate anthem of Liverpool supporters, “You’ll Never Walk Alone.”

That Burning Sensation

After much nagging and harassing from some brothers, I have decided its time to finally start this blog. Much of the credit for pushing me over that final hurdle must go to Messieurs Clarke and Blair of HMG whose latest Terrorism Laws came into force last Thursday. Glorification of terrorism (whatever that is), dissemination of terrorist publications (does Mein Kampf count?) and 28 days detention without charge are now all in force to make life that bit more difficult for Muslims in Britain. A record of this must be kept so that future generations can visit the remains of the concentration camps of contemporary times and wail "Never Again" and wonder how their ancestors could have stooped to such evil. In times like this, holding on to one's religion is really like holding on to a cinder.
